The Garden Café at Strawberry Hill House, Twickenham

A beautiful example of Gothic Revival architecture.

The café occupies the ambient Great Cloister of Strawberry Hill House and enjoys glorious views across Horace Walpole’s 18th century naturalistic garden.

This café is the latest in our growing family of Roots & Berries cafés, and like with all the other cafés, we offer a lovely selection of freshly made cakes, pastries, brunch and lunch items all year round. Anthony the café manager, welcomes every customer with a smile and warm greeting. It is very child friendly with the safe garden offering ample opportunity to burn off excess energy from the little ones.

Come and enjoy all that we offer in the unique setting of Walpole’s Gothic castle!

Private gatherings & parties

We work closely with the team at Strawberry Hill House and as such, are delighted to offer a selection of bespoke catering solutions — ranging from things like cream tea for tour groups visiting the house, to full event catering for weddings in one of the historic rooms.

Café redecoration

We are currently undergoing a little redecoration project since we’ve taken on the café, to make it a feel a brighter and cosier space to enjoy your lattes in! This will be completed in February/March 2024.
